VECTRA MODULE
ABS OPEL VECTRA
The Opel Vectra is one of the models we most often receive at the workshop for Opel Vectra ABS repair: we open your own control unit, rebuild it on the original part and return it to you with the hydraulic unit and the circuit board in good order, without replacing it with a second-hand unit. We work on both the second generation (Vectra B, 1995-2002) and the third (Vectra C, 2002-2008), and the vehicle keeps its original coding and chassis number after the repair. This is the Opel Vectra version for which we repair the ABS module. If you cannot find your car, contact us and we will help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
OPEL VECTRA ABS FAULT symptoms
On the Opel Vectra there is no public table of fault codes for the user: an Opel Vectra ABS fault is identified by what the car does and what the instrument cluster shows, not by a code you can look up yourself. These are the most frequent warnings:
ABS light on together with the ESP warning light
The Opel Vectra ABS light stays permanently on in the instrument cluster, usually together with the ESP or traction control light, and does not go out when you restart the engine.
Warning to check the brake system in the instrument cluster
The instrument cluster shows a fault or brake system check message, even though the pedal responds normally and the car brakes with no apparent problem.
The ABS system switches off for safety
When an anomaly is detected, the Opel Vectra’s control unit deactivates the anti-lock function as a precaution: conventional braking still works, but without ABS assistance under hard braking.
Thermal fatigue in the Opel Vectra B ABS control unit
In the second generation, heat from the engine bay and constant vibration crack the internal micro-connections of the Opel Vectra B ABS control unit, causing the system to shut down completely and the warning light to stay on in the instrument cluster.
Brush wear in the Opel Vectra C ABS
In the third generation, the most common faults are worn-out brushes in the return pump motor and persistent errors in the internal pressure sensor of the Opel Vectra C ABS.
Opel Vectra B ABS relay and fuses as the first check
Before working on the control unit, it is worth ruling out a faulty Opel Vectra B ABS relay or blown fuses: an intermittent power supply fault can mimic an internal fault without being one.
