LAND CRUISER MODULE
ABS TOYOTA LAND CRUISER
We repair the ABS module of your Toyota Land Cruiser and return your own remanufactured control unit, without resorting to breaker’s yard parts. Toyota Land Cruiser ABS repair is one of the most requested services at our technical repair centre: on this off-roader the ABS shares electronics with the descent control and the differential lock, so a fault can disable several functions at once. Use on tracks, with vibration, mud and humidity, oxidises connectors and solder joints, so the Land Cruiser ABS suffers its own particular wear. These are all the models we repair; select yours to request the repair of its ABS module. If you can’t find your model, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
FAULT symptoms TOYOTA LAND CRUISER ABS
The Toyota Land Cruiser doesn’t offer the user a list of ABS fault codes that can be checked without diagnostic equipment either: the fault is identified by the symptoms it causes at the wheel, on the brake pedal and in the instrument cluster itself. Besides the ABS warning light being on, it is common to notice a loss of assistance under hard braking, erratic ABS activation on dry surfaces or deactivation of the traction control, symptoms worth watching especially if you tow with your Land Cruiser: towing increases the braking distance and the ABS is key to maintaining stability, so towing is not recommended until the fault has been fixed.
ABS warning light on due to low battery voltage
Before suspecting the control unit it is worth checking the battery: low voltage can turn on the Land Cruiser ABS warning light in the instrument cluster without there being any real fault in the module.
The ABS shares electronics with the descent control and the differential
On the Land Cruiser the Toyota Land Cruiser ABS module shares electronics with the descent control (Downhill Assist) and with the traction management in off-road mode, so a fault can disable several functions at once.
Connectors oxidised by tracks, mud or wading
Off-road trips, mud or wading through puddles expose both the wheel sensors and the Toyota Land Cruiser ABS control unit itself to more vibration and humidity than urban use, oxidising connectors and internal solder joints over time.
Greater risk when towing with a faulty ABS
When towing with your Land Cruiser the braking distance increases and the ABS is key to keeping the whole combination stable, so towing is not recommended until the Land Cruiser ABS fault has been fixed.
Loss of assistance under hard braking
Besides the warning light being on, it is common to notice a loss of assistance under hard braking or erratic ABS activation even on dry surfaces, a sign that the module is no longer processing the wheel sensor signals properly.
Traction control warning light together with the ABS light
As both systems usually share the same control unit, it is common for the traction or stability control warning light to come on just as the Toyota Land Cruiser ABS light appears in the instrument cluster.
