WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Hyundai ABS fault
Spotting a Hyundai ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. An illuminated Hyundai ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone. A faulty ABS on a Hyundai can show up in several ways; the most common signs include:
ABS warning light on
The Hyundai ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often alongside the ESP or brake warning light.
Steering angle sensor fault
The unit logs C1290 or U0126: the steering angle sensor fails or stops communicating, the ESP is left without that data and drags the ABS down with it.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Hard brake pedal
You notice heavy resistance or irregular travel when pressing the pedal, indicating a fault in the pump motor of your Hyundai’s ABS unit, logged as C2402.
