WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Maserati ABS fault
Spotting a Maserati ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Maserati ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, and with this brand it often comes on without the driver noticing anything unusual when braking: a Maserati ABS sensor that stops sending a signal, a control unit that loses contact with the other modules or a brake control signal error can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Maserati are:
ABS warning light on
The Maserati ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster even though the car still brakes normally: the anti-lock system is disabled.
Brake control signal error
The cluster logs C1216, a chassis code associated with the brake control signal: although its name does not mention the ABS, it is worth including your Maserati’s brake control unit in the diagnosis.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Loss of communication with the ABS module
The diagnostic tool logs U0121 and the car’s other modules stop talking to the ABS control unit in your Maserati, with symptoms of a general fault even though the problem is confined to the brake module.
