DODGE JOURNEY MODULE
ABS DODGE JOURNEY
We repair the ABS module of the Dodge Journey and return your own remanufactured unit, with the hydraulic unit and circuit board restored. Our Dodge Journey ABS repair service covers the whole range from its launch in 2008 up to 2020, with particular attention to the early Journeys from 2009 and 2010, the years in which this fault recurs most often due to wear on the module connectors. We work on both petrol and diesel engines, with no need to recode the control unit or rely on a breaker’s yard part of uncertain compatibility. This is the Dodge Journey version for which we repair the ABS module. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a FAULTY DODGE JOURNEY ABS
The Dodge Journey has no dedicated catalogue of ABS fault codes visible to the user: the fault is detected through the symptoms it causes, especially on the older 2009 and 2010 units. The most common on this model are:
ABS warning light permanently on
The ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster and does not go off when you restart the engine. Before suspecting the module, it is worth checking the brake fluid level and the battery condition, as low voltage can switch the warning light on without there being a real fault in the control unit.
Hard brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
The pedal intermittently sinks further than normal or is harder to press, a sign that the control unit is no longer managing the pressure in the hydraulic circuit correctly.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the others, which is especially noticeable in a vehicle with up to seven seats like the Journey when it is loaded or carrying several occupants.
Traction control or stability warning light on
It comes on together with the ABS light because both systems share the same electro-hydraulic control unit on the Journey.
Corroded connectors due to the vehicle’s age
On 2009 and 2010 Journeys it is common for the module connectors to corrode or for the control unit’s internal components to degrade with the years and miles, causing faults that do not always recur consistently.
The ABS does not intervene in emergency braking
The wheels lock under hard braking because the system has stopped working, which increases the braking distance, especially in a vehicle as heavy as the Journey.
