PRIMERA MODULE
ABS NISSAN PRIMERA
We carry out Nissan Primera ABS repair by returning your own control unit remanufactured, with the hydraulic unit and the circuit board restored, without relying on a breaker’s yard spare of uncertain compatibility. This saloon was built in several generations, each with its own ABS module: the Primera P11 (1996-2002) and the Primera P12 (2002-2007) are the most requested at the workshop. Correctly identifying whether your vehicle has a Nissan Primera P11 ABS or a Nissan Primera P12 ABS is the first step before sending us the unit, to ensure the repair matches the exact part number of your control unit. This is the Nissan Primera version for which we repair the ABS module. If you cannot find your car, contact us and we will help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
NISSAN PRIMERA ABS FAULT symptoms
The Nissan Primera does not publish an open catalogue of ABS fault codes for the user: since its earliest units are more than twenty years old, the fault is identified by the symptoms it causes when driving rather than by a specific code. The most common symptoms of a faulty Nissan Primera ABS are:
ABS warning light permanently on
The ABS light stays on in the instrument cluster and does not go out even when you restart the engine, a sign that the Primera’s control unit has detected an internal fault that needs checking.
Harder brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
The pedal sinks further than usual or is harder to press due to a loss of pressure in the hydraulic circuit, one of the symptoms most often reported by owners of an older Nissan Primera ABS.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the others, an imbalance that is especially noticeable under hard braking or on wet roads.
Strange noises from the pump or hydraulic unit
A humming, clicking or vibration coming from the ABS pump when braking often signals an internal fault in the hydraulic unit before any warning light comes on.
Intermittent fault due to corroded connectors
Over the years and the miles, the ABS module connectors can corrode and cause faults that do not always recur consistently — one of the most common faults in a Primera of these generations.
The ABS does not intervene in emergency braking
The wheels lock under hard braking because the system has stopped working, increasing the stopping distance and the risk of losing control.
