FORESTER MODULE
ABS SUBARU FORESTER
We carry out Subaru Forester ABS repair by returning your own remanufactured ABS/VDC unit, with the hydraulic unit and circuit board restored. The Forester is an SUV also designed for tracks and unpaved roads, so its wheel sensors and ABS control unit endure more vibration, mud and moisture than a car used in town; over the years, that extra exposure leads to corroded connectors and intermittent faults, which we fix by repairing your original module, without having to recode the control unit or rely on a part from a breaker’s yard of uncertain compatibility. This is the Subaru Forester version whose ABS module we repair. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
SUBARU FORESTER ABS FAULT symptoms
The Subaru Forester does not show the driver its own catalogue of ABS fault codes: the fault is detected by the symptoms it causes. As an SUV also designed for light off-road use, these symptoms tend to worsen on units with more years, miles or off-road miles behind them. The most common are:
ABS warning light permanently on
The ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster and does not go off when the engine is restarted, a sign that the control unit has detected a persistent internal fault.
Hard brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
The pedal is harder to press or its travel varies from one braking to the next, due to a loss of pressure or a valve in the hydraulic unit that does not respond consistently.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the others, an imbalance that is especially noticeable on wet surfaces or under sudden braking.
VDC warning light on together with the ABS light
The vehicle dynamics control (VDC) warning light comes on at the same time as the ABS light, because both systems share the same electro-hydraulic control unit on the Forester.
Fault after use on tracks, in mud or driving through puddles
The off-road use common with this model exposes the wheel sensors and the control unit itself to vibration and moisture far greater than in urban use, which over time ends up loosening connections or damaging internal electronic components.
Intermittent fault due to age and corroded connectors
On units with more years and miles, the ABS module connectors can corrode or its internal components degrade, causing faults that do not always recur consistently.
