WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Hummer ABS fault
Spotting a Hummer ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Hummer ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a Hummer H2 ABS sensor that stops sending a signal, a wheel circuit left open after heavy off-road use or an EBCM that starts failing internally can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Hummer are:
ABS warning light on
The Hummer ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often together with the brake and traction control lights.
Intermittent faults after off-road use
Wading, mud and the vibration of dirt tracks take their toll on both the wheel sensors and the control unit itself, and the fault can take weeks to appear: the diagnostic tool logs C0035, C0041 or C0045, open or faulty circuits in the wheel speed sensors.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Reduced power mode
The diagnostic tool logs C0240 and the message “Service Stab Sys Traction Failed” appears: the EBCM in your Hummer fails to manage traction control and the vehicle limits power for safety, even though the engine has no real fault.
