IBIZA MODULE
SEAT IBIZA ABS
SEAT Ibiza ABS repair means returning your own remanufactured SEAT Ibiza ABS control unit to you, with the hydraulic unit and circuit board restored, with no need to recode the vehicle or rely on a breaker’s yard spare of uncertain compatibility. We cover the whole Ibiza range, from the first models to the most recent versions, with particular attention to the 6L generation: both a 2006 SEAT Ibiza ABS module and a 2010 SEAT Ibiza ABS module from the following generation share the same underlying problem, the internal wear of the electronic components over the years. 2003 SEAT Ibiza ABS and 2005 SEAT Ibiza ABS units are the ones that reach the workshop most often with this fault, given the average age of the cars of this generation still on the road. This is the SEAT Ibiza version for which we repair the ABS module. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
SEAT IBIZA ABS FAULT Symptoms
The Seat Ibiza has no table of its own ABS fault codes visible to the user: a SEAT Ibiza ABS fault is detected by the symptoms it causes, not by a specific code. Before suspecting the control unit, it’s worth ruling out the brake fluid level and the condition of the battery, as low voltage can cause the SEAT Ibiza ABS light to come on without there being a real fault. It’s an especially common fault on the SEAT Ibiza 6L ABS, given the average age of these vehicles. If the warning light persists, the most common symptoms are:
ABS warning light permanently on
The SEAT Ibiza ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster and doesn’t go out when you restart the engine, a sign that the control unit has detected an internal fault in the SEAT Ibiza ABS module.
Brake pedal with irregular travel
The brake pedal feels harder than normal or its travel varies from one stop to the next, one of the clearest symptoms of an ABS fault on this model.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the others, which is especially noticeable on wet roads or under sudden braking.
Handbrake light on together with the ABS light
On the Seat Ibiza it’s common to see the SEAT Ibiza ABS and handbrake lights on at the same time, as both warnings may share a signal with the same electro-hydraulic control unit.
Intermittent fault due to corroded connectors
Over the years, the SEAT Ibiza 6L ABS module connectors can corrode, causing a SEAT Ibiza 6L ABS fault that doesn’t always recur consistently.
The ABS does not intervene in emergency braking
The wheels lock under hard braking because the system has stopped working, a SEAT Ibiza ABS module fault that should be diagnosed at a garage as soon as possible.
