WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Land Rover ABS fault symptoms
Spotting a Land Rover ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Land Rover ABS warning light coming on in the instrument cluster is the warning we see most often at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a Land Rover ABS sensor that stops giving a signal, a worn reluctor ring or a control unit that has taken on moisture after wading can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Land Rover are:
ABS warning light on
The Land Rover ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often alongside the brake and traction control warning lights.
Intermittent faults after off-road use
Wading and heavy off-road use let moisture into the control unit and its connectors, and the fault can take weeks to appear: the unit logs C1A94-13, a general electrical fault with an open circuit in the front right sensor.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Loss of communication with the instrument cluster
The unit logs U0155-87 and your Land Rover’s ABS module stops sending data properly to the rest of the vehicle: strange warning lights appear on the dashboard even though the instrument cluster has no real fault.
