RAPID MODULE
SKODA RAPID ABS
We offer Skoda Rapid ABS repair and return your own remanufactured control unit, with the circuit board and hydraulic unit restored to factory condition. We work on the Škoda Rapid built in Europe between 2012 and 2019, in both saloon and Spaceback body styles, with diesel and petrol engines, with no need to recode the control unit or rely on a breaker’s yard spare of uncertain compatibility. This is the Skoda Rapid version for which we repair the ABS module. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
SKODA RAPID ABS FAULT Symptoms
The Skoda Rapid ABS module doesn’t show the driver a direct fault code: the way to detect a problem is to pay attention to the symptoms that appear on the road. These are the most common on the Škoda Rapid, especially once the car has some age and mileage:
ABS warning light permanently on
The ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster and doesn’t go out after restarting the engine, a clear warning that the control unit has detected an internal fault in your Skoda Rapid’s module.
Hard brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
You’ll notice the pedal is harder than normal to press or its travel changes from one stop to the next, the result of a loss of pressure in the ABS module’s hydraulic circuit.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
One wheel grips earlier or harder than the rest when braking, an imbalance that is especially noticeable on wet roads or under sudden braking.
ESP warning light on together with the ABS light
On the Skoda Rapid, the ABS and ESP share the same electro-hydraulic control unit, so an internal fault usually turns both warning lights on at once.
Intermittent faults due to corroded connectors
Over the years and the miles, the ABS module connectors on your Skoda Rapid can corrode or the internal components of the control unit can degrade, causing a fault that doesn’t always recur consistently.
ABS warning light caused by a flat battery, not a real fault
Low battery voltage can trigger the ABS warning light without there being any fault in the module; it’s worth checking the condition of the battery and the brake fluid level before assuming the control unit is faulty.
