CHAIRMAN MODULE
SSANGYONG CHAIRMAN ABS
We repair the ABS module on your SsangYong Chairman and return your own remanufactured control unit, with the hydraulic unit and circuit board restored. The Chairman is a large executive saloon that is rarely seen on Spanish roads, so we always work on your own unit rather than relying on a hard-to-find part from a breaker’s yard. Our SsangYong Chairman ABS repair service also avoids having to recode the control unit, and it fixes the problem on both diesel and petrol versions without you having to hunt for a new or second-hand SsangYong Chairman ABS module. This is the SsangYong Chairman version whose ABS module we repair. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
SSANGYONG CHAIRMAN ABS FAULT symptoms
The SsangYong Chairman does not publish a catalogue of ABS fault codes accessible to the user, so the fault is detected by the symptoms it causes. Because it is a heavier saloon than a conventional car, the hydraulic unit and wheel sensors of the Chairman ABS are under somewhat greater strain, which over the years can speed up wear on certain internal components of the module. The most common symptoms of a faulty SsangYong Chairman ABS module are:
ABS warning light on in the instrument cluster
First check the brake fluid level and the condition of the Chairman’s battery: low voltage can trigger the ABS warning light without the control unit having any real fault.
Hard brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
The pedal no longer responds smoothly, or sinks differently from one moment to the next, due to a loss of pressure in the hydraulic circuit managed by the ABS module.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
The car pulls to one side when braking because one wheel receives more braking pressure than the others, a common symptom when the control unit starts to fail.
Traction or stability warning light alongside the ABS light
On the Chairman both systems share the same control unit, so an internal module fault usually lights up both warning lights on the dashboard at once.
Intermittent fault due to the vehicle’s age
On units with more years and miles, the ABS module connectors can corrode, or the internal components of the control unit can degrade, causing faults that do not always recur consistently.
Greater wear due to the weight of the saloon
Because it is a heavier saloon than a conventional car, the Chairman’s hydraulic unit and wheel sensors work under a somewhat higher load, which over time can speed up wear on certain module components.
