WHY DOES IT FAIL?
SsangYong ABS fault symptoms
Spotting a SsangYong ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The SsangYong ABS warning light on in the instrument cluster is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a wheel sensor that stops sending a signal, an internal solenoid valve that does not release pressure or a power supply outside the operating range can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a SsangYong are:
ABS warning light on
The SsangYong ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, and it often appears together with several wheel sensor codes at once (C1051 – C1054) even though all four sensors are in good condition, because the source lies in the internal solenoid valves (C1076 / C1080) or in the power supply of the module itself.
Internal ABS module fault
The scanner logs code C1095, an internal hardware error in the ABS electronic control unit that points to a specific component on the circuit board itself, not to a sensor or external wiring.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Hydraulic pump motor fault
The diagnostic tool logs C1061 and your SsangYong’s hydraulic unit stops building pressure: sometimes because of a blown maxi fuse and sometimes because the pump motor itself has seized, which is what we check before writing the module off as beyond repair.

TYPICAL SSANGYONG ABS FAULTS WE REPAIR
Most common SsangYong DTC codes
Signal fault or open circuit in the front left speed sensor.
Signal fault or open circuit in the front right speed sensor.
Signal fault or open circuit in the rear left speed sensor.
Signal fault or open circuit in the rear right speed sensor.
Fault in the hydraulic pump motor circuit. It may be due to a seized motor or a blown maxi fuse.
Malfunction in the internal solenoid valves (the ones responsible for releasing or applying pressure to each wheel independently).
Internal hardware error in the ABS electronic control unit.
Fault or lack of calibration in the steering angle sensor. It is very common after a wheel alignment or a battery change.
Implausible reading or fault in the lateral acceleration sensor (Yaw Rate Sensor), normally located near the vehicle's centre of gravity.
Fault in the hydraulic braking system pressure sensor.
ABS system supply voltage outside the operating range. C1092 indicates undervoltage (weak battery) and C1093 indicates overvoltage (possible alternator regulator fault).
