RAV4 MODULE
ABS TOYOTA RAV4
We repair the ABS module of your Toyota RAV4 and return your own remanufactured control unit, without relying on breaker’s yard parts of uncertain compatibility. Toyota RAV4 ABS repair is one of the most common enquiries we receive, because on this SUV the ABS module works together with the traction control and the stability control (VSC/TRC), so a fault in the control unit can disable all three systems at once. The RAV4 has gone through several generations since its launch in 1994, and the one we see most often is the third generation, built between 2006 and 2012 and available with both petrol and 2.2 D-4D diesel engines — a petrol 2007 Toyota RAV4 ABS module doesn’t share a part number with that of the diesel version of the same year, so we always work on your vehicle’s own control unit so as not to lose the calibration or the mileage already linked to the original unit. This is the Toyota RAV4 version for which we repair the ABS module. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.
We can't find that model. Escríbenos with the module's part number and we'll tell you if we can repair it.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
FAULT symptoms TOYOTA RAV4 ABS
The Toyota RAV4 doesn’t show the driver a list of ABS fault codes without connecting diagnostic equipment either, so the fault is identified by how the vehicle behaves: by the warning light in the instrument cluster, by how the brake pedal responds and, in many cases, because the ABS warning appears together with the traction or stability control warning. When the RAV4 ABS fails, it is common to notice a harder than normal pedal or less effective braking, especially in vehicles that are frequently driven on tracks, mud or wet areas, where the module connectors tend to corrode sooner.
ABS warning light on together with the traction and stability lights
On the RAV4 the ABS module is integrated with the traction control (TRC) and the stability control (VSC), so a fault in the control unit can switch off the assistance of all three systems at once, not just the ABS.
Harder or less effective brake pedal
When the module goes into safe mode, the system may limit the braking assistance, and this is felt as a pedal with harder travel or braking that needs a longer distance than usual.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
A fault in the control unit or in the sensors that feed it can make the brake distribution uneven between the four wheels, something especially noticeable under hard braking.
Different part numbers for the petrol and diesel versions
The third-generation RAV4 (2006-2012) was sold with a petrol engine and with the 2.2 D-4D diesel, and although they share a body, a 2007 Toyota RAV4 ABS module from one engine is not interchangeable with that of the other, so it is advisable to confirm the exact engine before sending the unit.
Connector corrosion from off-road use or humidity
In vehicles regularly driven on tracks with mud, water or dust, it is more common for the module’s connectors and internal circuit boards to corrode, accelerating its failure.
Intermittent fault due to age and mileage
Over the years and kilometres, the internal components of the control unit can degrade and cause faults that don’t always recur consistently, one of the most common causes of failure on older RAV4s.
