GOLF MODULE
ABS VOLKSWAGEN GOLF
We repair the ABS module of your Volkswagen Golf and return your own remanufactured control unit, with the hydraulic unit and the circuit board restored. Our Golf ABS repair service covers every generation of the model, from the classic Golf II and Golf III to the Golf IV, the Golf V and the Golf VI, including diesel engines such as the Golf 4 TDI ABS and more recent units such as the Golf 6 ABS module. It doesn’t matter whether your control unit is from a modern model or from a Golf Mk2 ABS that is no longer made: we recover the original part without needing to recode the control unit or rely on a breaker’s yard spare of uncertain compatibility. These are the Volkswagen Golf versions for which we repair the ABS module. Each one may have a different module: choose yours and we’ll show you the one it uses. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.
We can't find that model. Escríbenos with the module's part number and we'll tell you if we can repair it.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
FAULT symptoms GOLF ABS
The Volkswagen Golf doesn’t display a readable ABS fault code without a diagnostic scanner: the fault is identified by the symptoms it causes in everyday driving, with different nuances depending on the generation. If you want to check the Golf ABS yourself before going to the garage, these are the most common Golf ABS sensor and control unit symptoms:
ABS warning light permanently on
The warning light stays on in the instrument cluster and doesn’t go out even if you restart the engine. Before thinking of a control unit fault, it is worth ruling out low battery voltage, which can trigger the Golf ABS warning light without there being a real fault in the module.
Intermittent ABS/ESP warning light on the Golf V
On the Golf V ABS module it is common for ageing connectors to cause a fault that comes and goes before becoming permanent in the instrument cluster, without the wheels or the brake circuit having any real problem.
Harder brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
The pedal sinks further than usual or is harder to press, a sign of a loss of pressure in the hydraulic circuit of the ABS control unit.
The car pulls to one side when braking
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the others, especially noticeable on wet surfaces or under hard braking, a common symptom when the Golf ABS sensor on that wheel gives an erratic reading.
Strange noises from the pump or hydraulic unit when braking
A hum, click or vibration coming from the hydraulic unit when pressing the brake usually indicates an internal fault in the control unit’s pump, not in the pads or discs.
Intermittent fault due to corroded connectors on the oldest versions
On units such as the Golf Mk2 ABS or the Golf Mk3 ABS, with more years and kilometres behind them, it is common for the connectors to corrode and for the warning light to come on intermittently rather than permanently.
