WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Jeep ABS fault
Spotting a Jeep ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Jeep ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we see most often at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a Jeep ABS sensor that stops sending a signal, a damaged tone wheel or a control unit that misreads the signal it receives can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Jeep are:
ABS warning light on
The Jeep ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, sometimes together with the brake warning light.
Intermittent faults after off-road use
Vibration, knocks and the ingress of mud or moisture from off-road use end up loosening internal connections, and the diagnostic equipment logs code 11, an internal fault in the ABS ECU itself.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Loss of communication with the PCM or BCM
The diagnostic equipment logs C0290 – C0292 and your Jeep’s ABS module is isolated from the rest of the vehicle, with symptoms of a brake fault even though the unit is not damaged.
