1 SERIES MODULE
BMW 1 SERIES ABS
We repair the BMW 1 Series ABS module by returning your own ABS/DSC unit remanufactured, with the hydraulic unit and the circuit board restored. We cover every generation of the 1 Series: the first, E81/E87 (3 and 5 doors), E82 (coupé, including the exclusive 1M) and E88 (convertible), as well as the second-generation F20/F21, in both diesel and petrol versions, with no need to recode the control unit or rely on a scrapyard part of uncertain compatibility. These are the BMW 1 Series versions for which we repair the ABS module. Each one may be fitted with a different module: choose yours and we will show you the one it uses. If you cannot find your car, contact us and we will help.
We can't find that model. Escríbenos with the module's part number and we'll tell you if we can repair it.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
BMW 1 SERIES ABS FAULT symptoms
The BMW 1 Series does not log its own catalogue of ABS fault codes visible to the user: the fault is detected by the symptoms it causes. The most common on this model, especially on higher-mileage E87 cars, are:
ABS warning light permanently on
The ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster and does not go off even if you restart the engine, a sign that the control unit has detected an internal fault.
Harder brake pedal or longer travel
The pedal sinks further than usual or is harder to press, due to a loss of pressure in the hydraulic circuit.
The car pulls to one side when braking
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the rest, especially noticeable on wet surfaces or under hard braking.
DSC/traction control warning light on
It comes on together with the ABS light because both systems depend on the same electro-hydraulic unit in the 1 Series.
Intermittent wheel sensor fault (common on the E87)
On E81/E87 cars it is common for the magnetic ring of the E87 ABS sensor to corrode or get damaged, causing erratic readings and the warning light to come on intermittently.
The ABS does not intervene in emergency braking
The wheels lock when braking hard because the system has stopped working, increasing the braking distance.
