WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Cupra ABS fault
Spotting a Cupra ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. An illuminated Cupra ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we see most often at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone. The most common signs include:
ABS warning light on
The Cupra ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often accompanied by the brake warning light.
Intermittent wheel sensor fault
The instrument cluster logs a “mechanical fault, intermittent” on sensor G44 or G46, with codes 00287 and 00290, which comes and goes with no apparent pattern.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Hard brake pedal
You notice heavy resistance or irregular travel when pressing the pedal, which indicates a fault in your Cupra’s ABS pump.
