FORD FOCUS MODULE
ABS FORD FOCUS
We repair the ABS module of the Ford Focus and return your own remanufactured unit, with the hydraulic unit and circuit board restored. Our Ford Focus ABS module service covers generations with very different control units: the Ford Focus mk1 ABS, with the 2001 Ford Focus ABS as the reference year, uses a control unit completely different from that of later generations, while the 2012 Ford Focus ABS and the 2014 Ford Focus ABS already use the third-generation unit, from a different supplier depending on the version (Bosch, TRW). A Ford Focus ABS fault can occur in any year of the range, and at Nito Motor we fix it with no need to recode the control unit or rely on a breaker’s yard part of uncertain compatibility. These are the Ford Focus generations for which we repair the ABS module. Each one is fitted with a different module: choose yours and we’ll show you the one it uses. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.
We can't find that model. Escríbenos with the module's part number and we'll tell you if we can repair it.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a FAULTY FORD FOCUS ABS
The Ford Focus has no dedicated catalogue of ABS fault codes visible to the user: the fault is detected through the symptoms it causes, most often on the Ford Focus mk1 ABS because of the average age of these vehicles, although it can also appear on the 2012 Ford Focus ABS and the 2014 Ford Focus ABS. Any Ford Focus ABS fault, whatever the generation, usually shows some of these symptoms:
The ABS warning light stays on
If the ABS light comes on in the instrument cluster and does not go off after restarting the engine, before assuming a control unit fault it is worth ruling out two simpler causes: a low brake fluid level and a battery with insufficient voltage, which can also trigger the warning light without the module actually being damaged.
The brake pedal responds irregularly
A pedal that sinks further than usual, or that is harder to press in some braking manoeuvres than in others, usually indicates that the control unit has lost precise control of the hydraulic pressure in the circuit.
Different braking from one wheel to another
Noticing that one wheel grips earlier or harder than the rest —especially in the wet or at low speed— is one of the most characteristic symptoms of an internal fault in the ABS module.
The traction or stability warning light also comes on
On the Ford Focus, traction control and stability control share a control unit with the ABS, so an internal fault in the module usually lights up all three warning lights almost at once.
Corroded connectors on the Focus MK1
On the Ford Focus mk1 ABS —with the 2001 Ford Focus ABS as a typical example— the accumulated years and miles make it more likely for the connectors to corrode or for the control unit’s internal components to degrade, causing intermittent faults that do not always recur in the same way.
The ABS stops intervening under sudden braking
If the wheels lock under hard braking instead of pulsing, the system has stopped working and the braking distance increases noticeably, whatever the generation of your Focus.
