RIO MODULE
ABS KIA RIO
Kia Rio ABS repair is one of the most requested automotive electronics services in our workshop for this model. We repair your own ABS module and return it to you remanufactured, with the hydraulic unit and the circuit board restored. We cover the different generations of the Rio sold in Spain, from the second-generation JB (2005-2011) to the UB (2011-2017) and the YB (2017-2023), with no need to recode the control unit or rely on a breaker’s yard part of uncertain compatibility. This is the Kia Rio version for which we repair the ABS module. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
KIA RIO ABS FAULT symptoms
The Kia Rio does not show the driver an ABS fault code: the fault is detected by the symptoms it causes. The most common signs of a problem with the Kia Rio ABS are:
ABS warning light permanently on
The ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster even after restarting the engine, a sign that the Kia Rio ABS module has logged a persistent internal fault.
ABS fuse blowing repeatedly
If the Kia Rio ABS fuse blows again and again after being replaced, the fuse itself is not the problem: it almost always points to an internal short circuit in the module that can only be fixed by repairing the control unit.
Harder brake pedal or longer travel
The pedal is harder to press or sinks further than normal, due to a pressure drop in the hydraulic circuit of the braking system.
The car pulls to one side when braking
One wheel brakes earlier or harder than the others, which is especially noticeable under hard braking or on wet roads.
Traction control or ESC warning light on
It comes on together with the ABS light because both systems share the same electro-hydraulic unit on the Rio.
The ABS does not intervene in emergency braking
The wheels lock under hard braking because the system has stopped working, which increases the braking distance and the risk of skidding.
