WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Kia ABS fault
Spotting a Kia ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Kia ABS warning light on in the instrument cluster is the warning we see most often in the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a Kia ABS sensor that stops sending a signal, the shared power supply of the rear sensors or a control unit that misreads the signal it receives can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Kia are:
ABS warning light on
The Kia ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, sometimes together with the brake light.
Several rear sensor codes at once
The unit logs codes from the C1207 / C1210 and B1214 – B1217 families at the same time, and the common cause is usually the shared power supply of the rear sensors or the control unit itself, not each sensor separately.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Loss of communication with the ABS module
The unit logs U0121 and the ABS module of your Kia is cut off from the rest of the vehicle, with brake fault symptoms even though the unit is not damaged.
