WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Lotus ABS fault symptoms
Spotting a Lotus ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Lotus ABS warning light coming on in the instrument cluster is the warning we see most often at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a Lotus ABS sensor that stops giving a signal — as with C0035 on the front left wheel — or a control unit that misreads the signal it receives can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Lotus are:
ABS warning light on
The Lotus ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often accompanied by the brake system warning light, which on a Lotus is logged as C0232 and also disables the ABS function.
DTC code with no standard definition
The scanner logs a C0550 that is not documented in either generic or Lotus-specific sources, so diagnosis requires a physical and functional inspection of the module.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Speed difference between wheels
The unit logs C0245 because one wheel is turning differently from the others for more than 12 seconds: it may be your Lotus’s control unit misreading the signal, or a genuine mechanical defect in that brake.

Why choose our ABS control unit repair over a new one?
TYPICAL LOTUS ABS FAULTS WE REPAIR
Most common Lotus DTC codes
Front left wheel speed sensor: short circuit or open circuit. Disables the ABS function
Brake system warning light: high voltage or open circuit (also low voltage, depending on the variant). Disables the ABS function
Wheel speed error: one wheel differs by 25% or more from the others for more than 12 seconds. Disables the ABS function and may also be caused by a mechanical brake defect
No confirmed definition: does not appear in generic or Lotus-specific sources
