C-CLASS MODULE
ABS MERCEDES C-CLASS
We carry out Mercedes C-ABS-Class repair by returning your own ABS/ESP control unit remanufactured, with the hydraulic unit and the circuit board restored. We cover the first three generations of the C-Class: the W202 (1993-2000), the W203 (2000-2007) and the W204 (2007-2014), with diesel and petrol engines —from the C180 and C200 to the C220 and C300—, with no need to recode the control unit or rely on a breaker’s yard part of uncertain compatibility. This is the Mercedes C-Class version for which we repair the ABS module. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
MERCEDES C-CLASS ABS FAULT symptoms
The Mercedes C-Class does not give the driver an ABS fault code that can be read without diagnostic equipment: the fault is detected by the symptoms it causes. These are the most common across the model’s different generations, from the W202 to the W204:
ABS, ESP and BAS warning lights on at the same time
The ABS, ESP and BAS warning lights all light up in the instrument cluster at the same time, a sign that the control unit has detected an internal fault and has deactivated all three systems as a precaution.
Hard brake pedal or excessive pedal travel
You will notice that you have to press harder than normal or that the pedal sinks further than it should, due to a loss of pressure in the ABS hydraulic unit.
Uneven braking, the car pulls to one side
One of the wheels brakes earlier or more strongly than the others, an effect that is noticeable mainly on wet surfaces or during sudden braking.
EBV warning light on together with the ABS light
The electronic brake-force distribution (EBV) switches off together with the ABS, because both depend on the same hydraulic control unit, and it stops distributing braking force correctly between the axles.
Intermittent wheel sensor fault
On W203 and W204 units it is common for a wheel sensor to send incorrect readings due to dirt or corrosion, making the warning light come on and go off for no apparent reason.
The ABS doesn’t respond under emergency braking
Under sudden braking the wheels lock because the system has stopped intervening, which lengthens the braking distance and increases the risk of losing control of the vehicle.
