WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Porsche ABS fault
Spotting a Porsche ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Porsche ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a Porsche ABS sensor that stops sending a signal, or a control unit that misreads the one it receives, can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Porsche are:
ABS warning light on
The Porsche ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often together with the PSM light, and it often appears right after disconnecting the battery or aligning the steering, accompanied by a steering angle code such as C1145 / 00778.
Internal ABS module fault
The scanner logs C0110 / C0121, the internal performance error of the ABS control module —or of its hydraulic pump motor—, which points to the control unit’s electronics and not to a sensor or external wiring.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Faulty brake pressure sensor
The diagnostic tool logs C0272 / 01435 and the brake pedal starts to feel strange or the PSM intervenes at the wrong moment, even though the mechanical brakes on your Porsche are in perfect condition.

TYPICAL PORSCHE ABS FAULTS WE REPAIR
Most common Porsche DTC codes
Reading fault in the left (C0035) or right (C0040) front speed sensor.
Reading fault in the left (C0045) or right (C0050) rear speed sensor.
PIWIS/VAG note: on Porsche-specific tools, the wheel speed sensor faults above are usually read with this numeric nomenclature instead of the C00xx codes.
Fault in the hydraulic pump motor or internal performance error in the ABS control module.
Fault in the module's power relay, often caused by low battery voltage or a blown fuse.
(PIWIS-specific codes) The hydraulic pump is outside tolerance limits (01276) or the control module has lost its factory coding (01044).
Steering angle sensor out of calibration or faulty. It is an extremely common error after changing the battery, aligning the steering or if the steering wheel has been removed.
Fault in the brake fluid pressure sensor. It usually makes the pedal feel strange or causes the PSM to intervene at the wrong moment.
Fault in the lateral acceleration or yaw rate sensor (Yaw rate).
