REXTON MODULE
ABS SSANGYONG REXTON
We repair the ABS module on your SsangYong Rexton and return your own remanufactured control unit, with the hydraulic unit and circuit board restored. The Rexton is an SUV also designed for off-road use, exposed on tracks, in mud and through fords to vibration and moisture that over the years take their toll on the wheel sensors and the control unit itself — which is why our SsangYong Rexton ABS repair service always works on your own unit rather than relying on a second-hand module that is hard to find and to code correctly. We fix both recent faults and the intermittent faults typical of units with more years and miles, without you having to look for a new SsangYong Rexton ABS module or recode anything. This is the SsangYong Rexton version whose ABS module we repair. If you can’t find your car, contact us and we’ll help you.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
SSANGYONG REXTON ABS FAULT symptoms
The SsangYong Rexton does not publish a catalogue of ABS fault codes accessible to the user either, so a module fault is detected by the symptoms it causes while driving. As an SUV with off-road credentials, both the wheel sensors and the Rexton ABS control unit itself are exposed to vibration, mud and moisture well above those of purely urban use, which over the years can loosen connections or speed up wear on the module’s internal components. The most common symptoms of a fault in the SsangYong Rexton ABS module are:
ABS warning light on in the instrument cluster
Before suspecting the module, check the brake fluid level and the Rexton’s battery voltage: low voltage can switch on the ABS warning light without there being any real fault in the control unit.
Hard brake pedal or irregular pedal travel
Feeling the pedal harder under some braking and softer under other usually indicates that the control unit is no longer regulating the pressure in the hydraulic circuit correctly.
Inconsistent braking between wheels
The Rexton veers to one side when braking because one wheel receives more braking pressure than the others, a common sign that the ABS module has started to fail.
Traction or stability warning light alongside the ABS light
The Rexton’s traction control and stability control share a control unit with the ABS, so an internal module fault usually lights up all three warning lights at once.
Intermittent fault due to the vehicle’s age
Over the years and the miles, the ABS module connectors can corrode or the internal components of the control unit can degrade, leading to faults that do not always recur in the same way.
Greater wear due to off-road use
As an SUV also designed for tracks and dirt roads, the wheel sensor and the Rexton ABS control unit itself are exposed to vibration, mud and moisture far greater than in purely urban use, which speeds up their wear over time.
