WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Rover ABS fault
Spotting a Rover ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Rover ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, and on the Rover 75 ABS it is the most common one, but it rarely comes alone. The most common signs include:
ABS warning light on
The Rover ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, sometimes together with the brake light.
No communication with the control unit
The diagnostic machine cannot connect to the module, several sensors fail at once or the speedometer stops working.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Spongy brake pedal
The pedal sinks further than normal and, on many Rovers, the ABS pump keeps running with the car switched off until the battery goes flat.
