Same manufacturer, two different modules
BMW does not fit the same ABS to all its cars: depending on the model and year, yours has one module or another.

WHY DOES IT FAIL?
BMW ABS FAULT symptoms
Spotting ABS problems in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The most common signs of a broken ABS include:
ABS warning light ON
The orange or red light on your BMW stays on in the instrument cluster.
Speedometer failure
On many BMW models, the ABS control unit handles the speed signal; if it fails, the speedometer stops working.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Hard brake pedal
You notice strong resistance when pressing the pedal, which indicates a fault in your BMW’s ABS pump.
