WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a DAF ABS fault
Spotting a DAF ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The DAF ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone. A faulty ABS on a DAF can show up in several ways; the most common signs include:
ABS warning light on
The DAF ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, sometimes together with the EBS warning, and the scanner points to the wheel slip sensor with codes 1-1 to 1-5 (F512).
ABS disabled on one wheel
A short circuit to supply in the rear axle modulator —codes F514 and F515— leaves the affected wheel without ABS, and points to the output stage of the control unit, not to the brake.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
EBS disabled on the trailer
Code F513 logs an unacceptable frequency in the DAF ABS sensor signal and disables EBS pressure control on the front and rear axles, and also on the trailer.

Why choose our ABS control unit repair over a new one?
TYPICAL DAF ABS FAULTS WE REPAIR
Most common DAF DTC codes
Wheel slip sensor minimum value too low (F512) — excessive gap between the ring and the sensor, or excessive bearing play
Wheel slip sensor deviation (F512) — incorrect tyre size or missing pole wheel teeth
Wheel slip sensor short circuit to supply (F512)
Wheel slip sensor short circuit to earth (F512)
Wheel slip sensor open circuit (F512)
Unacceptable wheel speed sensor signal frequency — disables EBS pressure control on the front and rear axle wheels, as well as on the trailer
Short circuit to supply in the rear axle modulator — disables ABS on the left wheel of the rear axle
Faults equivalent to F514 but in the other rear axle modulator
