WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of a Honda ABS fault
Spotting a Honda ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. An illuminated Honda ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone. A faulty ABS on a Honda can show up in several ways; the most common signs include:
ABS warning light on
The Honda ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, often alongside the VSA or brake warning light.
Internal ABS module fault
The unit logs codes in the 31 to 38 series, solenoid valve short circuits that reveal a fault inside the modulator rather than in the wheel sensor.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Hard brake pedal
You notice heavy resistance or irregular travel when pressing the pedal, indicating a fault in your Honda’s ABS pump, logged as codes 51 to 53.
