WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Suzuki ABS fault symptoms
Spotting a Suzuki ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Suzuki ABS warning light on in the instrument cluster is the warning we hear about most at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone: a loose or deformed rear speed sensor, a rotor with a dirty or damaged reading slot, wiring with an open circuit or a battery voltage above the operating range can show up in several ways. The most common signs of a faulty ABS on a Suzuki are:
ABS warning light on
The Suzuki ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, and it often appears together with codes for a rear wheel (41A for abnormal speed variation, 45A for an open circuit or short circuit in the wiring) even though the sensor appears to be fine, because the source may be the rotor, the wiring itself or a battery voltage that is too high and destabilises the system.
Incomplete steering sensor calibration
The scanner logs C1075 or C1079: the steering angle sensor calibration process has not been completed correctly, something that happens after disconnecting the battery, doing a wheel alignment or removing the steering wheel, and which leaves the system without the reference it needs to work.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Hydraulic pump motor fault
The diagnostic tool logs C1061 and your Suzuki’s hydraulic unit stops building pressure: it is a circuit or performance fault in the ABS pump motor, documented in real cases such as the 2009 Suzuki Escudo, and we check it before writing the module off as beyond repair.
