WHY DOES IT FAIL?
Symptoms of an Iveco ABS fault
Spotting an Iveco ABS fault in time can prevent accidents and bigger repairs. The Iveco ABS warning light on the dashboard is the warning we see most often at the workshop, but it rarely comes alone. A faulty ABS on an Iveco can show up in several ways; the most common signs include:
ABS warning light on
The Iveco ABS warning light stays on in the instrument cluster, sometimes accompanied by loss of the retarder or the trailer brake.
Internal ABS module fault
The diagnostic equipment logs an internal control unit fault — SPN 40B16, with no associated blink code — which points to the unit’s electronics rather than a sensor.
Unpredictable braking
The braking system does not respond as it should. DTC reading and testing of every hydraulic and electronic channel.
Loss of J1939 communication
The scanner logs SPN 40BE7 and the speed, retarder, engine or gearbox data arrive inconsistent, leaving your Iveco’s ABS isolated from the rest of the vehicle.
