What is the ATE MK61 ABS module?

The ATE MK61 ABS module is the evolution of the MK60, launched by ATE in 2004. It combines the hydraulic unit, with its pump, and the electronic control unit that manages the ABS and stability control in a single block.

It is fitted by brands such as Audi, BMW, Ford, Mitsubishi, Opel, Renault, Seat, Suzuki and Volvo, as well as Skoda, Volkswagen and Mazda: for example, the VW Golf 5, 6 and Plus, Scirocco, Jetta, Eos, Touran and Caddy or the Mazda 3 BL from 2009 to 2013. Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my car has an ATE MK61?

Look at the module’s label: the MK61 carries ATE part numbers such as 10.0961-0307.3, 10.0212-0220.4 or 06.2109-5223.3, and often the car manufacturer’s too, such as 1K0 614 517 BD on the VAG group. Look it up in the Part numbers tab, or find your model under Compatible vehicles.

Does the module need to be reprogrammed when it is fitted?

No. We repair your own unit and keep its original coding, so once fitted it works just as it did before the fault.

How long does the repair take?

Repairing an ATE MK61 takes us 24/48 hours from when the module arrives at our technical repair centre. You only pay once it has been repaired.

What does the price include?

The €450 includes specialist labour, the necessary internal spare parts and the final bench test. 21% VAT is added to this price.

What happens if the module can’t be repaired?

If we can’t repair it and don’t offer you a solution, we don’t charge you anything: we return your part to you at no cost whatsoever.

How should I send the module?

Drain the brake fluid before packing it, to avoid spills and corrosion of the electronics in transit. Protect the module well and put it in a box suited to its size with plenty of padding.

Does the repair include a warranty?

Yes. The repair comes with a 12-month certified warranty, with no mileage limit, and you can extend it to 24 months when you place your order.

Important:

  • Nito Motor S.L. will only be liable for the correct operation of the module during that period.
  • Nito Motor S.L. will not be liable for the cost of fitting and removing the module during the warranty period; this cost will be borne by the workshop or the end customer.
  • The warranty will be void if there are clear signs that the ABS module contains any fluid other than brake fluid (water, cleaning solvent…). We recommend never cleaning the module with a pressure washer.

As well as warning lights that are on, the MK61 often arrives with no communication with the ABS, a pump motor fault, several wheel sensor faults or one or more wheels locked. When the car is connected to a diagnostic tool, these are the codes we see most, by brand:

    Die Abwicklung der Reparatur meines defekten ABS Modul (2003er BMW R1150GS) war sehr einfach, schnell und kompetent. Wenn man auf der Website den Reparaturauftrag erteilt hat, dann sollte man einen Screenshot vom Auftrag machen, denn ich habe keine schriftliche Bestätigung erhalten. Ist aber kein Problem. Achtet auf die Preise - auf der Website ist Netto angegeben, kann überraschen, weil wir es in D nicht gewohnt sind, mit Nettopreisen einzukaufen. Incl Transportversicherung betrugen die Reparaturkosten somit ca. 900 Euro, deutlich günstiger als andere Angebote. Das Gerät würde pünktlich, wie vereinbart, von einer Spedition 2 Tage nach Auftragserteilung an einem Mittwoch abgeholt und nach Spanien geschickt. Am folgenden Dienstag erhielt ich bereits die Info, dass die Reparatur fertig gestellt wurde. Super schnell. Ich habe überwiesen und den Screenshot der Überweisung mitgeschickt. So wurde das ABS bereits am darauf folgenden Mittwoch zurück gesendet und war am Montag wierder zu Hause. Das Ganze dauerte keine zwei Wochen. Das Gerät funktioniert wieder einwandfrei.
